Solved Is mother board able to support CPU Upgrade?

Specs: Windows 7, A-6 4455m / 8gb
I'd like to upgrade my processor on my laptop from
AMD A-6 4455m to
AMD A-10 5757m?

I was told i need to check the mother to make sure it cam support it. It's the same socket type FP2.

Mother Board: HP 18DE 77.47
Chipset: AMD A55-A60m FCH Rev. 00
Southbridge: AMD A55/A60M Rev. 11

Whilst it does generally depend on the motherboard model, that only holds true if it's a retail motherboard which is (or was) available to buy. With retail motherboards, the CPU support list is published by the motherboard manufacturer on it's website.

However, laptop motherboards are not retail items. They are custom made for the laptop manufacturer, and as such the CPU support list for these motherboards is not published.
