Reply: (edit)NO, 80C will kill your CPU!! 60C is considered hot for that chip. Are u sure your temp is accurate?? Is the heatsink hot to the touch?

Reply: (edit)I run on dual Athlon MP 2400s on an Asus motherboard (A7M266-D) and Asus provides me with monitoring software for the box: I can tell you that my current CPU temp is 42C and my CPU threshold (that is auto-shutdown) is set to 90C. What is your power supply size, motherboard model, and number of fans. It might be time for a service stop.
