I have just been wondering if it is bad for the CPU to be running at 100% for long periods of time. I have been making back-up copys of my DVDs and notice that the copying process takes up nearly all the CPU usage. I usually just set it to copy overnight so it doesn't bother me, but just want to make sure that I'm not killing my Processor. Thanks for the help.

It not going to hurt your CPU at all, my Athlon XP 2100+ is running at 100% 24/7 for the last 1yr 6 months with no problems at all

Yes, that's what it's there for. It doesn't get tired and wear out like you and I, but it's certainly a good question. If it is overheating, that's something else. Keeping it cool (or relatively so) should be your concern if it's running at 100%. But, it sounds like you are running a stable system, so you're probably OK. Have fun and good luck.
