Hello,
My computer video stop working, after i reseated the ram it still had no video. Then i noticed there were no post or beep codes however the hard drive, cpu and power supply fans turn when i hit the power button.

So I assumed the processor is fried, before i buy this processor i just need a second opinion that this is the proper processor for the HP Pavilion a6600f desktop.

It's virtually impossible to fry a CPU these days due to built-in protection circuitry.

Spinning fans & blinking lights are no guarantee that a power supply is putting out enough juice to boot an entire system, all it means is it's putting out enough power to spin some fans & blink some lights.

What happens if you try to boot with no RAM installed?

Try to remove cpu, i remember to have the same issue twice and i remove cpu and it works. Ya it's a good idea to get rid of pentium d.

edit: sorry i thought the cpu is pentium d 9xx/8xx

Tried all your suggestions and still there is no POST or Beeps, must have had a lightning surge.

Thank you for the suggestions anyway.
