I'm back again to ask and learn something.
1.
Now that the Intel Pentium 4 broke the 3.x Ghz speed barriers and the top AMD processors already taking advantage 'over them' by unleashing their 64-bit chips -- do you think that if Intel will move to 64-bit too (maybe it will be the start of Pentium V, hahaha), the core speeds of their processors will be doubled?
2.
I'm living in a tropical country (Davao City, Philippines) and the temperature here only ranges from 21*C to 33*C. What is the maximum temperature for the Pentium 4 to play safe here. Note: Prescott
3.
Is Prescott hotter than AMD 64-bit processors?
4.
The estimated prices of leading processors here are:
Pentium 4 HT 3.2 Ghz -> US$ 270 = P15000
AMD 64-bit -> US$ 260 = P14400Question:
Since we have known that AMD processors are cheaper than Intel processors. Now that AMD 64-bit FX outperform P4 EE with HT, are AMD processors taking the advantage of raising into a higher price (now that they have the good reputation on the processor industry than Intel).
Maraming salamat po. (Thanks)

Amd is slowly but surely gaining an advantage over intel, but intel will still be the choice of cpu. Y??, because the majority of people that own computers have no clue as to how they really work.
They think a modem works in that it connects them to the internet, but have no clue on how it works.
Try selling someone a computer that has a rating of 2.2ghz (AMD's 3200+ XP) versus intel's 3.2 ghz, then try explaing to them why AMD is better, (again were talking to the majority here) and they are going to look at you like your crazy and say, "that b---tard is trying to rip me off."
But as we know, AMD does stand up to intel, and even surpass.
Plus AMD has the option of going as high as 128-bit interface, where intel is stuck on 64-bit (for now).
So if AMD went to 128-bit:
1)Insanely expensive (esp. right now)
2)Kill intel in performanceAs to your first question, NO, that is just a bit interface that the processor uses. It allows more room for more instructions per second (doubled).
Prescott does run hot, as long as you run a good or the standard cooling system it will be good.
And there is a higher end intel processor out there, and it costs like nearly a G.
You can be amused by the simplest of things.
