---- I did try to OC in BIOS but I wasn't able to change any of the system speeds. Is there a way to override that setup or is my BIOS version not capable of overclocking?
THANKS for any help and thanks also for this forum.George.

As far as I know Intel board will not allow
normal OCing. They just won't give you the
options in the bios.
You can try to find a hacked bios that
allows all those OC features but that's
risky as you don't know if the bios realy
works.
As an alternative try the program ClockGen
( http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php ) which
allow you to OC from the running system.
There is no version that't exactly for your
board but for two other D845x board.
Download that and try it.
Try to raise the FSB in small steps of 3 to
5MHz to see if it works and run some
benchmarks to see if the results get
better. If the system is stable you can try
the next step and test again. And so on.
My guess is that you ram will stop you
sooner or later because it's running at
133MHz. As a way around you can try to set
it back to 100MHz in the bios.
And you can try to manually set the ram to
higher CAS settings.
I hope your bios will allow at least those
two opperations!
Good luck!

plus if you can't lock your agp/pci bus to 66/33 mhz, respectively, you will not get any significant OC, in other words, it won't be worth the trouble...sounds like that is a socket 423 motherboard and the max cpu you can get for it is 2.0 GHZ
Abit AS8 LGA775 2.8 @ 3.15 Prescott
512 Corsair XMS PC3200
128 meg Radeon 9800 Pro
DUAL 36 GIG WD Raptors
21 in. 19.8 viewable Sony Trinitron
3+ Mbps cable connection

Intel Pentium is not overclockable with the original BIOS, Intel Celeron's are. that what i have, 2.6 at 3.2.... also if you overclock, consider buying another fan, unless you already have more than just the system one.i have 3 case fans. and a system fan.
If you dont try, you'll never know..

Intel Pentium is not overclockable with the original BIOS, Intel Celeron's are.
WHAT???
FSB is controlled by the BIOS and if the BIOS does not allow change of FSB, then you are stuck. Does not matter if its a P4 or a Cel. BIOS is not on the processor but on the motherboard. So, overclocking function rests with the mobo and not CPU. (atleast FSB o/c).
please get your fundas straight, do some research. Google search is a great way to learn.
Good Luck and Happy Computing,
