Is it really worth spending the extra cash to
get a i7 over the i5? is there bench marks any
of you can link for me with the i5 and i7 in
action? and do any of you know if intel is going
to build more chips based on the i5?, so that i
wont need to get a new mother board and can
just upgrade from there. also which one gives
more bang for buck?

Cmon! Type i5 vs i7 into any search engine and you'll get all the hits you want to read. Here's a start...

Core i5 750 on P55 seems to be the platform of choice for midrange and even high end builders these days. When it comes to gaming and many other applications, there's not much of a difference between the two CPUs.
The i7's hyper-threading will only come in handy if you stare at 3Ds Max or encode 1080p video all day.

The Core i5 is too hard to pass up. I mean, for under 200 dollars for a high performance mainstream cpu is almost a no brainer for anyone looking for a mid-range gaming machine. The core i5 is the best bang for your buck if you are looking for high performance at a mid-range price.
