I finally overclocked my CPU to a 1800+, I was wondering if this overclock was worth attepting....My Processor says it is at 1.54 ghz, Do you think i did good for my first time.... also i try to overclock my CPU to a 1900+ but the only thing i got was a blue screen of death and a reboot! So i guess this is the max i can go, untel i get better cooling or Unlock my 1700+ palamino...So do u think i did ok or just WHIMPY overclocking... My CPU stays at temmpetures from 62 to 65 is that ok.....? Every thing seems ok...thoght but i need peoples opinion, oh ya i over clocked from the bios! (140+140)! Has any body every unlock there 1700+ palamino and over clocked it to 2ghz...? How long do u think the overclocked 1700+ will last me... i olny rasied it two notches....!
Thanks:Jon

Your temps are too high, imo. Overclocking an xp1700+ to an 1800+ isn't a huge achievement, but well done anyway :)

Sort your temperatures out before trying to overclock any further. Consider case fans, a new hsf, thermal paste etc.

people are overclocking their 1700+ thoroughbreds to well over 2 ghz in conjunction with a voltage mod to their board to get over 2 volts on the core voltage...some boards are limited to like 1.75 volts and you can't overclock reliably when you need more
