ok so im over clocking my computer right and everythings okay and wut not .. but when i get into windows .. its saying that nothing over clocked .. its actually being UNDERclocked ... and when i rais it over a certain amount . the bios dosent even reconize it anymore and it resets the settings upon boot .. but when i go into the bios .. its overclocked ... and when i go to play counterstrike ... i can play for like 2 minets then my comp locks up ..
i have an
intel P4 3.4ghz EE
4GB of ram
nvidia 7900GS
150gb 10,000rpm harddrive
680watt psu
agia phyxs card
abit IC7-MAX3 motherboard

Go into the BIOS & set the system configuration to default values, then see if you can play your game without the system crapping out on you after two minutes. A little research indicates your board has a flaky AGP/PCI lock beyond 300MHz FSB, this may or may not have been the main cause of your overclock issues, but I could see it being a part of it.
P.S. You could have diverted the money spent on the physics card to getting a faster video card or save it for something else.

Explain how you're overclocking.
How much are you raising the CPU frequency? CPU:DRAM at 1:1? Manually configured RAM timings? Locked the PCI/AGP at 33/66MHz? Spread Spectrum disabled? AGP Aperture at 128MB? Increased CPU voltage?
Hey, are you getting your money's worth out of that Ageia PhysX card? LOL! You should have invested in a better video card instead.

the physics card is worth it but i have a bit of money to throw around and the video card is the best one for agp out to date its and Gainward nvidia geforce 7800gs + bliss.
i have the ram set at the default no spreadspectrum i have all the voltages default and its 1:1 but its not in the bios were im having the problem its in windows .. my bios shows its being over clocked and when i get on windows it says its underclocked .. but yes im also have problems in my bios when i try to set it higher then 204 then the bios resets it self ... could this be cmoc battery ... or motherboard or should i try updating bios

I was being sarcastic. The PhysX card is NOT worth it...as a matter of fact, it's a waste of money. Numerous hardware sites have tested it & the gains are minimal, if at all. You should have bought a better video card instead.
What do you mean you have your CPU overclocked but you can't set the frequency higher than 204MHz? You mean you have the CPU overclocked a whopping 68MHz (or less)? It's not even worth the bother.

thats the thing i cant get it over that with out something reseting or telling me its wronge .. belive me ive had it higher

think about it guys .. even if i wasnt over clocking my is it doing that ....??? heat is not an issue with my computer ,, its gotta be the cmoc battery , motherboard or bios // any ideas???

Just an aside 4GB Memory is overkil for XP, 2GB is usually sufficient, there is some difficulties with XP utilising that amount, see:

ok my PSU is an aspire apriva 680 watt
heres a link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...im gonna try up dating all the motherboard drivers and bios maybe that will help .. ill report back soon

alrite i just updated my bios and reset everything .. i updated all the mobo drivers and the video drivers ... and i checked microsoft updates and i had none ... the computer runs fine but it still says im being underclocked and it still locked up under game play and not under normal use
