The only way to "accelerate" a CPU is to raise the clock frequency, and to do that requires changing the core voltage and FSB. It's called Overclocking, and Intel chips are locked, meaning that they cannot be overclocked. That is why AMD chips are so popular, most of them are not locked and can be overclocked. However, that appears to be changing lately.
