Specs: Windows Vista
anyone out ther know anything about stealth computers? i have a lil pc 401fs that keeps shutting off. if it has been down for over 24 hrs it will stay up for about 40 mins. After it shuts down it will not power back up with the restart button. i have gone into the system to shut off the automatic restart. i have used heat test and the temps are well within the limits. i have replaced thermal paste. ihave ran the machine with the cover off and placed a fan blowing directly on the machine. incedentally this machine was designed to run without a fan as the case acts as a heat sync designed for industrial use and to be ran 24/7. i have contacted the manufacturer for tech help with no luck. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If it started right back up again, I would say check memory, but the fact that it does not restart without a long waiting period, I would have to say it is definitely related to heat somewhere. If your CPU and chipset are both within the reasonable range, then I would next look to your power supply. If it is marginal for your system or is on it's way out, then heat build up there will raise the internal resistance therefore lowering the output voltages and making it a possible cause of the shut downs. Check each of the voltages in your BIOS or directly with a digital volt meter (measure under load) and make sure you are within 5% of specs at each of the different voltages.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
