I got my new mobo and re-formated and reinstalled windows xp this morning. Well, I got it all installed and started to load software. To make a long story short, after about 2 hours of running and me installing away, it started crashing. Probably crashed 4-5 times in about a half hour! I didnt know what was wrong.. After the last crash, I actually started paying attention to the POST and saw that my HDs' were on IDE2! My cd drives were on IDE1. Could this have been the culpret of all the crashing? I know that you are always supposed to keep the HD's (especially the boot drive) on IDE1. I hope that was the problem and that I didnt damage anything.. Time will tell..

No overclocking yet. The only thing that is considerably different is my temps. Actually my system is running very very cool.. I am running 28C idle and 36C system temp. And I am still have the crashing issue. I am currently running a 1700 with ddr333 mem. What could cause my system temp to be so high and my cpu temp to be so low.

A motherboard bios that is inaccurately reporting temps. Check for an update.
