Hello everyone i am having the most horrid problem with my VPR MATRIX 1820. First off my pc is a 1.8 ghz P4, 512 ram, Winxp Home, nvidia 6200 256mb video card, antec 350 w power supply. My cpu was running fine forever until one day it started shutting off on it's own. It would crash the system whenever i played a game, tried to copy a cd, or run any program that had a substantial amount of load time. I opened up my pc and cleaned all the dust from it. i found out that the fan on the video card supplied with my pc had stopped working. So i went to BB and got a nvidia 6200 256mb card, istalled it and it works. But still the crashing problem. I talked to a friend that is an ex-member of Geek Squad, he told me to get an upgraded power supply, i went and got a antec 350 w, installed it and still the problem exists. So next i try to reinstall windows, i get about 25% through the installation and it shuts down. I try to hit repair it shuts down, itry to deleta a partition it shuts down. If i don't use the istallation cd windows will start loading only to tell me my profile is missing and tells me it will use a windows default profile. Windows loads up but does not work correctly. And also the windows folder is missing from the hard drive. Any help is appreciated because i am ready to throw the PC out the window....Plese help me.......Skye Parisi

Check your board for bulging capacitors and also test your RAM module(s).

do this:
get a win-98 boot disk from here:
www.bootdisk.com
start your machine with it.
delete your partitions and foramt your drive clean. get the disk out.
set your bios to boot from cd rom
put xp cd in cdrom and voila you will have your problems solved .

It's better to be silent and thought of as a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

I don't know how well you read Skyeblue's post alexd ... if You notcied He tried deleting patitions and reinstall windows, and during the process of trying to either delete partitions his computer would crash, or trying to reinstall windows his computer would crash, where do you get problem solved from your post when He can't even get the processes done in the first place?

But I agree with Sabertooths theory.
