The specs for this laptop say dualcore 2.7ghz up to 3.2Ghz accelerated processing. I can only achieve this speed by overclocking through AMDs OverDrive utility. AMD's OverDrive utility also allows me to overclock the GPU from its max 685Mhz up to 1300Mhz. Is this safe? What temperatures should I look out for? I have a cooling pad.

Overclocking a laptop is a thoroughly bad idea. They lack just about everything necessary for safe and effective overclocking. Overclocking introduces extra stresses that laptops are not equipped to handle. Among other things there is extra heat. Many laptops run hot even at stock speeds. While it may be possible to overclock a laptop the results are rarely satisfactory and the risks high.
Well said LMiller7. You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.
