Hi!

I got my new CPU today and i works... but it was a cpufan problem so know I wonder how warm an AMD XP2600+ CPU can work so it not will be broken.

My CPU was 125*F / 52*C fram the beginning, I took of tha fan and put it on again, then I have 118*F / 48*C.

Is this normal?

Is this temp straight away or after playing a game or something. Mine tends to sit around 42 degrees but then mine is a 2400+.
You are using a good dollop of compound on your cpu first right?
If so then do you have any other fans in the case? If not then invest in one or two case fans. I have one at the front sucking cooler air in and the one at the rear blowing warm air out.

OK, righet know i don't have my side (left and right side) on, on my case and I look at the temp in the Bios. Maybe not the best one?

But I have one big fan in the power supply and one 80mm fan on the top of the case. Maybe put one in the front too.

According to AMD, your CPU can has a max die temp of 85C (185F). They don't give a "normal" operating temp, but I personally consider "room temp plus 20C" (roughly 40C) to be in the ballpark.

Running with the side panels off is not a good idea....the cooling fans need a closed system to work effectively. If you have no intake fans, installing one in the lower/front of the case would be a good idea...

If you're at 48c in bios with the side panel off, the heatsink or compound may not be installed correctly.

ok,

tnx for all answer. I will install an intake fan and close the case (all ready done).

Is heatsink very important? I heard that will lower temp on some degrees. But I dont have any. :D

Maybe I wull buy tomorrow!

Trust me you got a heatsink on top of your CPU, if not it would have either been damaged when you started it, or started and shut right back down.

Try looking into Arctic Silver compound to put between your HS (heatsink) and CPU. That should help lower your temps a bit, if you don't have an exhaust fan either (one where you plug all the cables into the back of your comp) you should grab one of them too. That should fix you up.

haha... sorry!

My mistake, I was a little lost there! My minde was on the compound, not the heatsink. :-) It's the compound i dont have..
