i have a asus m2a-vm w/integrated graphics, amd x2 4400 cpu. i want to overclock and get the most speed out of it with out frying it how can i do it.

Need to know what RAM you have (DDR2-667, DDR2-800, etc) & it wouldn't hurt to know the make/model of your power supply? Do you have a *real* video card or are you sticking with the IGP?
"And that's the fishing line, because Sharkboy said so!"

"its a xion solaris 450watt psu"
XION Solaris is the case. The PSU is an LC-B450E which is a cheapie made by L & C TECHNOLOGY & marketed under numerous brand names. A decent quality 450W PSU sells for at least $50, newegg sells that case w/PSU for $60. That should tell you something about the quality of your PSU.
"yeah for now i am keepin inboard vid"
As IGP's go, the 690G (Radeon X1250) is great for a home theater system, but it's still an IGP & as such, isn't very good for gaming...you'll need a *real* video card for that.
Anyhow, here's what you'll need to do to overclock your system:
- disable Cool 'n Quiet
- set the memory at DDR2-667
- set the LDT bus at 800MHz
- disable any Spread Spectrum settings
- increase the CPU frequency from 200MHz to 250MHz, but do it in 10MHz increments. Reboot & test the system for stability after each 10MHz increase. If the system becomes unstable, bump up the CPU voltage by 0.025v & try again.Depending on which version of the 4400+ you have, the CPU speed will increase to either 2.75GHz or 2.875GHz, the LDT bus will run at 1000MHz (2000MHz DDR) & the RAM will run at approx 400MHz (DDR2-800)

ok well i did all that onlt took cpu to 235 tho and am at 2.7g speed kinda seems like its hesatating tho could it need the cpu voltage lifted some and is cpu voltage vcore i have pc probe monitoring temps cpu tem is about 69*f and mobo is 80*f is that ok also sorry about poor writing skills
i also ran cpu burn v1.0 and took cpu
temp up to 91*f max what is to high of temp for cpu i am using pc probe 2 to monitor temps also

PC temps are generally reported in Celsius.
Check the BIOS because your readings don't seem right. The board shouldn't be hotter than the CPU & 69F seems kinda low for a board temp, unless your room temp is about 60F?
As long as the CPU temp stays under say, 60C (140F), you should have nothing to worry about.
The problem with running the CPU at 235MHz is that you're losing RAM bandwidth. Your DDR2-800 is probably running at about DDR2-770 or so.
Check your setting with CPUZ:

well i turned up to 250 mhz does that take the ram back up to 800 i changed that to 677 so wouldnt that be what its at i got 2.87g out the prossesor with them settings now now with cpu burn im running at highest temp 42 cpu and mb at 30 i will check bios temp to thanx

Now you're getting it. You got the CPU cranked up & the temps look good. Nice going! :-)
When you overclock an AMD system, you have to lower the RAM speed to 667MHz (like you did) because it's speed will increase as you increase the CPU frequency. If you had left it at 800MHz & increased the CPU freq to 250MHz, your system wouldn't have booted at all & probably would have scared the crap out of you...lol.
Run CPUZ like I suggested in my other response & see what speed your RAM is currently running at. It *should* be close to 400MHz (DDR800)...my guess is it will be about 410MHz (DDR820), which is fine.

slot 1 and 2 same.ok and temps in bios are about same with cpu changing from 28c to 29,30 around but when in idle on desk top cpu is 24c to 27c and mb is 29c on pc probe thanx for the help is there anything else i could do to help it speed up also lol like maybe another g stick of ram or something.

All your settings look good. Well done.
You could experiment with the RAM timings. It's difficult to advise what settings to use though...it's very "trial & error". Your timings are currently 5-5-5-18, try 4-5-5-15. 4-4-4-12 is another possibility.
I see the command rate is defaulting to 1T, that's good. 1T is faster than 2T. If your system becomes unstable or throws up error messages after changing the timings, just change them back again.
Here's a bunch of programs that should come in handy:

well i was looking to change the ram timings where do i do that i dont see it in the setup screen and if i use program in windows isnt there a chance that i could not get it back right or would safe boot work and that link you put in there is there some where else they are the links in that link for proggies dont work directs me to found error page
