First I am going to list the specs to my computer. Then I'd like to know if overclocking will make a difference, and what it will make a difference too?
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
1.10 gigahertz AMD AthlonMotherBoard: ABIT VT8366A-8233 (KR7A) v1.0
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
1024 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
(could replace with a GeForce 4 440MX)

If your Athlon 1.1Ghz is unlocked, then go for it, afterall you've got nothing to lose. If it is locked then it's not worth the trouble.

I don't understand? How do you know if its locked? What will overclocking give me? And... how do I do it?
Now i'm not illiterate or inept, I am just unknowledged and I lack experience...

Fortunately for you, here's some good illustrations that will help out. Don't rush into it, do some reading and then go from there.
If you have questions, feel free to ask, lots of folks here are always eager and very helpful (but we won't do your homework for you).

The good news is, you have a board that's designed for overclocking...now all you have to do is experiment with the settings. The manual explains the SoftMenu 3 settings. If you don't have a copy of the manual, you can get it here:

Your CPU is currently clocked at 11 x 100MHz. If it's unlocked, you can lower the multiplier, then raise the FSB without over-overclocking the CPU. For example, 8.5 x 133MHz = 1133MHz...not a substantial overclock, but you'd have the immediate advantage of a 33% faster FSB. Then you could experiment from there.
If it's locked at 11x, all you can do is raise the FSB a little at a time & hope for the best.
Here's some excellent info:
