how to overclock a cpu

i have a Intel Pentium 4 2.66ghz cpu on my computer the computer model is a dell dimension 4600c can someone tell me how to overclock my cpu i heard it can be done and i would like to try it out if it does not work on my computer i also have a hp pavilion n5450 850 mhz i would like to try it on

OEM computers should not be overclocked. These systems do not stand up well to the stresses of overclocking so the manufacturer does not include the necessary BIOS settings to do this. This protects you from failures and them from the resulting warranty claims. While it may be possible to overclock such systems the results are rarely satisfactory and the risks high.

Overclocking is best done with home-built systems where you can control the specifications and quality of components.
