The vcore for your 2800+ should be 1.65v...if you set it lower than that, your system will probably become unstable.

Is your system unstable now? Are you having any temp related problems? If not, my guess would be your temp readings are bad. If you are having probs, your heatsink probably isn't installed correctly. Are you getting the temps from the BIOS or from software?

Is your case ventilated? How many case fans? What's your room temp & system temp?

If you search Google using "GA-7N400 temperature", you'll find a LOT of people having the same problem. 1st make sure your heatsink is correctly installed & your case is adequately ventilated. If you're satisfied that you're good in that respect, try updating your BIOS.

Although I was able to see a 10°C drop in temps from overvolt to undervolt, a lot of things are different between our systems.

My motherboard is 3-4 years old and runs PC133 memory.

You will have to run at default settings.

As jam said, you need to be sure the temps you see now are accurate.

Idle temps tend to go down more than load temps do. Fine if you don't do any gaming or graphics work.

You will see "unexplained glitches" and need to raise the vcore closer to 1.650 to eliminate them.

It's gonna take a lot of hours and stress testing to find the minimum vcore that'll work for you.

First, you need to memorize Response 1 and then check it all out.
