Solved how to decrease my PF usage

Specs: Windows XP service pack-3, cpu-2.4Ghz,,RAM-1GB
i have 1gb ram bt normally it is showing PF-1.56GB.......he to reduce it?????

What is "PF"?

EDIT: page file? There's nothing wrong, just leave it be & let Windows handle it. If you want better performance, add more RAM. 1GB isn't nearly enough these days. XP will perform much better with 2 or 3GB. 4GB will work too but only 3-3.5GB will be useable.

In XP Task manager shows what is labeled "PF Usage" and "Pagefile usage". But the labels are misleading. I suppose this was an attempt to make something complex easier to understand. It only caused more confusion. This is actually the commit charge and is more like potential, not actual pagefile usage. Actual usage will typically be much less. It is not shown anywhere in Task Manager. Don't worry about it, it really isn't that important.
