Hi, I just recently got an Athlon XP 2100+ with an ASUS A7V333. I have my RAM running at CL2, and I have the CPU/Memory setting in the BIOS set to auto. Anybody have a clue how to check if my RAM really is running at 333MHz?
Also, using the ASUS PCProbe that came with the mobo, I detect my CPU temp to be 65C and mobo temp to be 42C. I'm using a Volcano6 HSF, but I have the CoolerMaster ATC-210 alumnium case which should provide better cooling and also has a fan at the top of the case. I'm just wondering how these numbers might compare with other people running 2100+'s.

A good tool to check RAM speed and stuff, as well as do a little benchmarking, is Sisoft Sandra. I think you can download it at www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/

zstryder, I know that AMD's run hotter than Pentiums but I too have a ASUS mobo and have the PC Probe installed and my CPU temp ranges from 30C to 45C and my mobo temp from 25C to 35C. But I am using a Thermaltake heatsink and fan combo as well as thermal grease applied to the cpu. Hope this helps.

I am running the same Motherboard with an XP-2100 CPU. I first ran CL 2.5 setting It checked by "Sandra Pro" 4950 on the CPU benchmark. I changed to CL 2 and using "Sandra" it checked 5014.

PS my CPU temp is running 46C idle to 58.5C loaded. Motherboard temp 40 to 49C. This is with a Coolermaster CB5-6131C I buy for $ 9
I also tried a Kingwin KCU-7025 solid Copper
fins and 65mm blades and it lowered the CPU temp 7C. This fans cost $ 18 It is a little more noisy but not too bad
