Hi my ram is currently runing at 400mhz, however my fsb:dram frequency is CPU/11, my question is how can i change this on my nforce3 mother board, i know its a memory timing option in the bios but im not familiar with memory timings and i have currently set the motherboard to automaticly set the timings.

i have added screen shots of my cpu-z report.

You don't need to change anything. Unlike an Intel-based system, the memory controller of an Athlon 64-based systems is integrated to the CPU. Because of this built-in memory controller, you don't have to worry about FSB:DRAM synchronization. Your system does not have an FSB leading to an external memory controller.

On S754/939 systems, the RAM should be clocked at 200MHz (400MHz DDR) for optimal performance, and that's exactly what you're doing.

What jackbomb said is 100% correct.

Now you gotta work on overclocking that sucker! Your Venice will easily run at 2.75GHz & you've got a great board for it.

Here's my 3000+ Venice at 2.5GHz on an Asus nForce3 250 board:

I had tested it at 2.7GHz & it was completely stable, but since this is the "family" PC, I decided to keep it at 2.5GHz. Here's a screenshot of the 2.7GHz settings:

I've also got screenshots of all my BIOS settings if you wanna have a look...

yes please jam that would help greatly, btw how did you get a command rate of 1T i heard its faster than 2T only a small percentage faster though (5-10% is it?).

"how did you get a command rate of 1T"

It's one of the BIOS settings. I believe your board/BIOS has it too, under the DRAM Configuration menu. Here's some BIOS screenshots. Your setting options should be similiar:

BIOS_Shot_1

BIOS_Shot_2

BIOS_Shot_3

Make sure to set the AGP at 67MHz (not 66MHz), & disable all Spread Spectrum settings. The ideal RAM timings for an nF3 board are 2.5-3-3-10 @ 1T.

Yeah, I know what board you have...I already had a look at the manual to see what BIOS options are available. The 1T/2T setting should be under Advanced Chipset Features > DRAM configuration. This is how it should be set:

Max Memclock = 166MHz
1T/2T Memory Timing = 1T
CAS# latency (Tcl) = 2.5
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) = 3
Min RAS# active time (Tras) = 10
Row precharge Time (Trp) = 3
