Comment:

I am just wondering what other peoples tempture is. and Whats the lowested you can have it. Without using some crazy water cooling system.

I am running a AMD 2100XP with a lot of fans.
My temps are as followed:

CPU 43C/109F
MB 31C/87F

Lowest I have even seen on my system is:
CPU 41C
MB 27C

Ambit Temp is probley about 24C in my house.
What does everyone eles system run at.
and any idea on how low ya can go?

Is that a load temp??

My temps vary from season to season(of course this is normal). In the winter, my temps are as follows:

CPU: 35-36C idle CPU: 40-42C load
System: 22-24C idle System: 22-24C load

In the summer:

CPU: 44-47C idle CPU: 48-52C load
System: 31-35C idle System: 31-35C load

Room temperature in the winter can range anywhere from 64-67F. In the summer room temp varies from 77C-85C (rather warm). As you can see, ambient plays a major role in determining computer temp, not the number of fans in your case. Of course, airflow in the case is important too.

FYI, heres my system:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ Palomino @ 1.67GHZ
SLK-800(A) lapped, with an 80mm 30CFM, 2500 RPM fan on the sink. AS3 is present.
ECS K7s5a (onboard diode, temps will be warmer measuring this temp from the cpu die, but i don't have this capability).
512 PC2100
GF ti4200 @300/600
Maxtor 60GB Diamond Max 9 (very quiet HD)
350W Allied PSU
3 Vantec stealth case fans. Two in front as intake (running at 7V). One on the back (exhaust) running at the normal 12V.

Overall, i'm pleased with the cooling performance as well as the reduction in noise. My temps would be lower if i used my noisy tt smart fan 2, but the motor has an anoying grunt to it. Hope this sheds some light.

XP 2400+ @ 2242MHz 1.75v

Lowest I have seen it go under load is 30C with an ambient of 14-15C

Highest I have seen it go under load is 38C with an ambient of 22C

Nice temps, Adam..

With my 2500 @ 2.2Ghz (in A/C and case open). I can idle 31C and load 37-38C.

I have had a 1700 as low as 27C idle.

Cool enough for me :P

Don't know how good they will be in summer :(
Melbourne summers can get quite hot, as high as 40C. I'm sure the A/C will help though.

xp1700, normally clocked runs around 20C during day in now-ish weather, goes down to 15 at night, lol, cant wait for the winter:-

XP1700 Thoroughbread 2
Thermalright SK-7 + Smartfan @ 3000rpm
120mm Evercool fan modded to 7V in sidepanel
80mm Evercool Rear Fan

i couldnt believe these temps, i had v.good ones with my volcano 9, but these temps just take the piss, and b4 any of u say, all temps r accurate as i've tested all array of coolers, the side panel fan helps the most i recon, with the lovely heatsink too, best £20 i've ever spent.

cheers

tom

Is my calculator busted? It must be. I don't think I had anything that cool last winter with the machine turned off.

Let's see, uhh 20x9/5+32=68 and 15x9/5+32=59, carry the one, spank the monkey...

Central California and not uncommon to have 4 or 5 months of mostly 100°+ days. Not too bad until it gets cloudy and humidity goes way up. We can have some pretty good runs of 105°+ days too. Can be a real bitch to get out and work in.

If you mean the ° thingy its Alt+248. Hold alt key down, type 248 on the numberpad and release the alt key.

Thanks, I know you posted it recently, but I couldn't seem to find the post. 100°F+ (37°C+), hey it works, days for 4 - 5 months, thats a little too warm for me. In Melbourne, 40°C feels bad, mainly because one day its 40 and sunny, the next its 16 and raining.

Yeah well Melbourne can be hot in summer, but Adelaide, i hate it, we can sometimes get around 44°C over here and it is really hot and since South Australia is the driest state in the driest Continent its hot.

I'm quite chuffed.

My new parts arrived today (TT Smartfan 2, Vantec Nexus 301 and Lite-On DVD Rom) and my pc is now running great.

AMD XP2400 @ stock
SK-7 w/ TT Smartfan 2 & AS3
512MB Unbranded DDR PC2700 RAM
Gigabyte GA-7XP
ATI Radeon 9000 pro 128MB @ stock
WD 80G HDD
HiPower 420W PSU
YS-Tech 120mm intake on the side (125 CFM)

When I put the fans to their max (More than just a tad noisy) my machine is idling right now at 32°C.

Ran Toast for 30mins and didnt go over 45°C

Me = happy :D
