I have a Pentium 4 2.00 GHz with 2 gig RAM and I was wondering what was the fastest internet service I should be paying for. I don't think my computer would benefit from 20 mbps service but where would the cut off be ?

I have been using 1 mbps service and I know my computer can handle more so I upgraded to 12 mbps. Is it worth the $35 a month for my old computer ?

The Internet speed varies so widely for so many reasons that it is almost impossible to say a "faster" service will actually be faster. Usually, the modem or router is the bottleneck. Even if the hardware is rated at 1000mbps, the servers on the Internet can be the bottleneck due to demand and popularity.
Try it on a conditional basis. Most ISP's will allow you to do that for a short period of time. If it doesn't workout, drop back.
