I just downloaded this coolbits thing that allows me to overclock the frequencies of my geforce3 ti500 from the display properties. Right now im at 240/500. Does anyone have a geforce3ti500 or know how far I can push my card, like a stable overclocked setting. :?

Just play with it, why ask us..every card is different, just see how far you can get with the ram and core without crashing or anything. also you might want to watch the temps cause that will cause it to crash when they get too high.

Kev is right, it's mostly luck of the draw. But you can get some sort of idea.. Check the kind of cooling you have on your core and RAM. If you have a nice copper HSF with some kind of thermal grease, the heat that is drawn away from the GPU will be maximized, and if the RAM has HSinks too, even better. But alot of it is personal testing, one card could go to 340/700, whereas another from the same vendor can only reach 290/570. Sometimes adding additional cooling may also help, hope this aided you.

I forgot to add, it can also depend on the KIND of RAM too. BGA is best I think, and the lower the "ns" (nanosecond) value, the better: alot of cards' RAM is 4 or 5ns, but some have 3.3 or even 2.8ns. The lower the value, the higher the clock speed.

Yeah also if you can, take off the stock fan and if it has a thermal pad on there take it off and put some as3 on there. that's what i did and the temps are like 5-6c lower and i was able to get the core even higher when i tried to max it out. plus my xaser 3 comes with a thermistor for reading the cpu temps i just stuck it under my stock fan and now i have a temperature monitor for my card. you can also buy a new fan for your card like the vantec icberg 4's which will give you even better cooling so you can get the core even higher.

Is there anyway to check the temp of my graphics card?

Just put your hand on the stock fan to see how hot it is compared to when it's not oc'ed also i just take 1 finger and put it on a ram chip to see how hot it is. i've seen mine soo hot that if i left it there i could of burnt my finger..but that's when i was maxing it out.

also doing stuff like that could cause ESD damage so be carefull you might want to ground yourself or just touch both hands to a grounded metal object first.
