I am trying to find my system load temperatures.
How is it best to test them. I have MotherBoard Monitor 5... so I can check my high/low temps...
But how do I get my system to realy work?
The other day I tryed playing MaxPayne2 + Battlefield1942 (both in full graphics) and I was on the internet....I just switched between games and windows for about 20min....
I donīt know if my CPU was on load, but I would think so...Is there any good ways to do this?
Thanks.

Try Prime95 torture test (maximum heat) or Sis Sandra burn-in (100%). Which prompt me to comment on these two programs:
Prime95 seems to put more burden on the CPU because the CPU temp is couple of degrees higher than that under Sandra. While sometime my rig couldn't pass Prime95 (error after a few mins), it always pass Sandra continuous test for 12 hours. Does anybody know what they stress (CPU, RAM, etc.) during the test, respectively?

A little utility called toast will do it for you. I know of nothing that stresses a cpu more.http://www.upoa.de/downloads/toast.exe
Shawn,
Sandra does math and multimedia tests although I don't know what instructions are used. Prime95 gives me temps like you described and toast (linked above) give the highest temps. Try toast and see if your temps are higher than with Prime95.Caveat: Don't walk off when toast is running. I just watch it for 10 minutes.

Skip, beat me by 3 minutes...lol
OK, try these on for size:

Hey, I just remembered that I downloaded Toast but never use it. I'll try it and report back what I find out about the temp.

I get the highest from Prime95. I could run Toast for days without crash in a setting that Prime95 would fail in less than 5 minutes.
So, may be toast get the highest temp. Prime95 assure your system is stable for good. Skip, somehow I could not get Toast as high as Prime95 in temp.

real_cool, Shawn, jam, and skuliaxeI'll run everything I can find again when Sidney gets the ChillVent to me...should be here in a day or two. Thanks again for that tip at Ohls-Place.
All our rigs are different and don't respond alike to artificially introduced stimuli. By picking and choosing the benchmarks we want to publish any of us can make my Duron look like a P4. However, any of us with half a brain know "it just ain't so". I'll publish links to my temp testing on this thread later on and likely start another thread too. real_cool, do you still have notes on the testing you've done with ChillVent?
I always run 4 or 5 temp programs and do as much research as possible concerning how my motherboard reports temps. Anything less is no more than a guess. As an example, my Duron gets real shaky at ~65°C and I've seen others that run just fine at 75°.

Skip, the guy's name was Raymond who sent me the freebies a few months back. Some how, I got darn good result from it. I have two Lian-Li without any side fan, and five cheapos here none with side panel fans.
It shaves at least 5 C from any of the system I have here (7 of them). Sorry, only one AMD others are P4s'. I gave them my data at least four months back. I have since switched to Abit and HT, only keeping the 2A that is running like in heaven at 3.4 ghz with 55C tops stable like a rock. I did buy two from them and Raymond promised me a clear unit in a month or two.
Skip, you are right. Check this out, two different sites testing the same cooler with very close CPU speed. The difference is huge, although I like the cooler (quiet).

Ohls-Place never responded back to me...I don't know what happened. I signed up & gave my e-mail address, picked a name/password, then I got nothing. I went back to their site & tried to re-register, but was told my address was already registered...I'm unable to log in with my chosen name & password, & I never received a confirmation e-mail from them.

Ok, ran Prime95, Toast and Sandra Burn-in module for 10min each, The Toast resulted in the highest CPU temp, Prime 95 is only half degree behind, while Sandra is about 2 degrees lower (system temp was the same during all tests). So Toast and Prime 95 is about the same. Of course I only ran them for 10min, will try again later for longer time.

Hey Skip,
I went back to that site & tried another of my many screennames ;) Apparently they don't like Yahoo! e-mail addresses but they accepted another one that I use...so I'm all signed up..I'll see if there's any of the ChillVents left...
Thanks

Ran both Toast and Prime95 and after 10-15 minutes of testing on both programs my rigs temp was the same as it is at idle. 3deg C and 37deg F. Both are cool programs though. Going to try them on my other rig to see how it does.
