Hello Please advice me I have Pentium 3 processor. It used to work at 933MHz, but after i took CMOS battery out speed of my processor dropped to 550MHz. I managed to set it to 789MHz, (ext. clock set at 100 1/3), temperature around 45C. When i set External clock settings to 133 speed gets to 1000MHz. But temperature gets upto 90C. Can anyone advice me how to set speed back to 933MHz? I have Pentium 3 processor(MMX i think) and AWARD motherboard. Thank you very much

Hi again When i go to BIOS to set External clock settings i have a range of numbers to choose from: 100 1/3, 133 and some others. I once have set it to something, don't remember what it was, and when i turned on my comp nothing appeared on the screen. I panicked, and took CMOS battery out again, it helped, after that i never tried changing external clock settings to anything else. I don't understand any of those numbers. I don't have any USER MANUALS for my processor and motherboard. Thank you

You can download the manual.
If you can set your FSB to 133MHz, your CPU will clock around 933MHz. It’s multiplier is 7X.

Set “External Clock” to 133.
Your CPU multiplier is locked at 7X.
Good luck.

Just set the "EXTERNAL CLOCK" to 133. Leave the multiplier alone. That's what BadBoy's trying to say
