Specs: Windows XP
my laptop won't startup. all i get is a black screen with led lights blinking and fan activation. can't even access bios. Recently replace systemboard, but that didnt't fix the problem. closest it got to startup is the initial loading screen, then automatically shutoff.

Two things come to mind...

1. Power problem- is your battery charged or charging correctly? Does your power adapter work?

2. Thermal- CPU is going into thermal shutdown perhaps. When motherboard was replaced did the fan(s) get reconnected correctly. Also check heatsinks.

Good Luck

If you can bring up any display, your CPU is not fried. You may or may not have needed a new board, but I'm guessing you didn't reinstall the heatsink on the CPU correctly & it's immediately overheating.

Was the system board replaced professionally or did you do it yourself? If a professional did the replacement, take that SH** back and make them double check their work. If you did it yourself, double check your work!
