I'm fixing to oc my 1700+, but need to see what speed my memory is. I have two sticks of DDR 256mb, but I don't know pc2700 or what? Also, if the RAM is 166mhz, I should be able to set FSB to 166 x 12, correct?
thanks

If you are using DDR233 then you are rnning PC2100 but if you are running DDR333 then you are running PC2700. Hope this helps.

Did you buy the computer ready made or all the components seperately? Motherboard/CPU/RAM combo perhaps?
Is there a sticker on the side of either of the memory modules?
The memory is likely to be PC2100 (266 MHz) If this memory is very good quality such as Crucial or Corsair you may well be able to run it at 166 MHz.
If you want to change the multiplier of the CPU to help with overclocking, the CPU has to be unlocked first.

If your memory turns out to be PC2700 (333 MHz) it will run at it's full rated speed if the board and CPU are capable of working with it.
The XP1700+ has a stock multiplier of 11 and runs on a stock FSB of 133 MHz (266 MHz DDR)
What motherboard do you have?
