Reply: (edit)your typical namebrand pc's are hard to overclock simply because the typical namebrand pc's don't make very good overclocking boards for many a reasons, but mostly because a typical board is cheaper to make then an overclocking board is and they don't want the avg pc user messing around in something that could destory their pc. Besides that most of your typical namebrand pc's don't have the right power supply, ram, case venolation to support overclocking. When you are overclocking a typical namebrand pc you are rolling the dice, so in other words don't to it unless you know what you are doing and you have the right hardware to do it. You are probably out of luck if you want to overclcok your gateway, because of the reasons I just mentioned.

Reply: (edit)OEM systems usually come with a no-frills BIOS, Gateways included. You have to live with the current speed or try pseudo clocking from within windows using SoftFSB or CPUFSB, Goodluck with it !!!. List of Lists.
