How can I over clock my Athlon to a Phenom
Based on the research ive done, i have the unlockable phenom that was sold as an athlon(

Sadly i know not what i need to do to unlock it. I even have known overclockin options on my mobo (

I just dont know how to proceed- I have cpuz so i have many more specific specs.

It is the stock cooling (heatsink with fan directly over it)

Can any1 help me out?

Even it can be unlocked, you're not going to do it with your outdated nForce4 motherboard. You need a board that supports ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) core unlocking. Here's an example:

Ok, say i get this new mobo, what other upgrades would i "need". Do i need a bigger power supply to OC- and would my stock cooling unit (heatsink with fan directly mounted ontop) suffice?

There's no guarantee your CPU can even be unlocked, but you should be able to overclock it, even with your current board. And if the CPU temp stays within a reasonable range, there's no need to upgrade the HSF. Have you tried to overclock it yet? Are you still using the weak onboard video or have you installed a decent video card? I can't comment on the power supply because you didn't supply any info about your current one. I'd need to know the make/model, wattage, & amperage specs.

Haha awesome - no i havent OC'ed it yet but im certainly willing. I will get power supply specs when i get home from work. And yes i currently still use the onboard graphics =X since all i play is deltaforce / counterstrike stuff lolz. (also i think cpu-z will tell me stuff like cpu temp but tbh im not sure what it needs to be at....

SEWWWW, that program refuses to run, my pc freezes when opening it no matter what i try. i have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times (and made sure i was using the 32 bit version) it seams to not like xp. I did upload my cpu-z info as an .html to my Mobile me: and i see my Power supply is: PSX-400M

.....i also played with my bios and i see alot of clocking options =D but im not sure how or what to change anything too lol but it seems doable on this mobo

"i have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times"

It doesn't need to be installed. Use the 32-bit "no installation" version. It works fine with XP.

The power supply link is useless since there are no specs listed, but that's a pretty fair indicator that it's cheap garbage.

And I don't know what I'm supposed to click on on your "mobile me" site.

sorry (i have had the same result with 1. the installer, then 2. the 32-bit "no installation". On the site the the html file is called "pc spex", as for the power supply im not sure what else i need to find. Reading about the hwm i see it uses SMART and i even went as far as to find that was disabled in my bios, i enabled and retried- computer still locked up (all programs and background apps closed) I have no issues with letting you TeamView my pc if that will help...
