High Explorer.exe usage.

Specs: Windows XP
So I reformatted my Roommates computer, and now, he cant run WoW without Explorer.exe spiking the processor to max. The game experiences incredible lag, any ideas?

Your question really isn't CPU/overclocking related....you should be asking in the XP forum. Why did you feel it was necessary to reformat & reinstall Windows?

Because it has to do with the CPU being overused by a certain Process?

This is a software issue, not a CPU issue.

Are you experienced at formatting & reinstalling Windows? Did you install all the drivers (chipset, video, sound, LAN, etc)? Did you install SP3 & all the rest of the Windows Updates? Did you install all the necessary 3rd party software such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall? Did you disable unnecessary services & run MSCONFIG to prevent unnecessary programs from loading at startup & hogging resources? And why didn't you bother to list the system specs?

Sorry, I am kind of new to this, my apologies.

Ok, well, I am experienced in reformatting, I did update to SP3 and all the Microsoft updates from the site. I put AVG 8.5 on there, and all the Drivers as well. Went through MSCONFIG and disabled the unnecessary programs on start up, I did not change any of the services.

System spec is:
AMD Athalon 64 3000+
ASUS K8N-VM Motherboard
ASUS EAX550 GS Video Card
1024 MB RAM
120 GB Seagate SATA Hard Drive
Pioneer 16X DVD Burner

Anything I am missing?
