I am getting new computer parts As a last Christmas Present. And as I was looking at the Ram I was going to get the Corsair XMS2-9136 2GB DDR2 Dominator Series Memory Witch Runs at ((Each module pair is tested together at 1142MHz
Tested and packaged in pairs
Packaged together immediately following system test
Tested at EPP SPD settings (5-5-5-15) at 2.2V at 1142MHz
SPD programmed at:
JEDEC standard 5-5-5-18 values at 800MHz
EPP standard 5-5-5-15, 2.2V values)) But i saw this ((OCZ OCZ2FX11502GK 2GB Kit DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC Edition Dual Channel Memory)) witch runs at (((1150MHz DDR2
CL 5-5-5-18
Available in 2GB (2x1024) Dual Channel Kits
Unbuffered
OCZ Lifetime Warranty
2.35 Volts
240 Pin DIMM 2 x 1/4" ID (inner diameter) barbs.
and it can be Liquid cooled and i have Liquid cooling. But some one at newegg siad not to get the OCZ b/c
This is the fastest memory you can buy that is EPP certified. I wouldn't buy the OCZ, because OCZ doesn't have a relationship with NVIDIA like Corsair does. EPP with the 680i chipset is where it's at! It runs at 1142MHz with no stability issues. I am using the eVGA 680i motherboard, and a E6600. He was talking about the Dominator.
Dose EPP really help if you are OCing?
and I saw that the OCZ on Liquid cooling some one had it running at 1280MHZ and the Dominator at 1200MHZ would that help that much? I have never had OCZ Before I don’t think there EPP and im not sure if they are SLI certified. I loved to OC so im not sure witch one to get.

The E6600 runs default @ a 266MHz FSB (1066MHz Quad Pumped), so to have your CPU:DRAM ratio at 1:1, getting some PC2-4200 (DDR2-533) memory would have been OK on a system that will not be OC'ed.

Now with the overclock potential of those Conroe and your having an E6600, almost every overclocker with such a CPU will likely go for PC2-6400 (DDR2-800), because they hoping to push the E6600 well in the neighborhood of the 400MHz FSB (1600MHz Quad Pumped). Now regarding EPP, my understanding is that it is more stable when overclocked & that implies you would have to worry so much as far as keeping the (CPU:DRAM) 1:1 going when pushing the CPU's FSB so high, as you try to attain your your max overclock settings.

To be honest with you, the most expensive memory isn't going to guarantee the highest possible overclock, so I don't think spending way too much on RAM is quite a smart move, but you don't want the cheapest (no name) modules either. Something like this 5-5-5-15 PC26400 modules from G.SKILL ought to be good enough for your overclock goals.

Liquid cooling is not very popular on this board & as a matter of fact, rarely would you find most of the regulars here, advocating anything beyond the good ol' air cooling.

Good Luck!

Yup, I agree with Sabertooth. I doubt you're gonna find anyone around here backing your decision to spend close to $500 on 2GB, especially when you can get decent RAM that will perform just as well for about 1/4 of that.

http://www.xtraplus.com/jsp/Product...

Besides, what are the chances of you EVER running RAM even close to 1142MHz (actually 571MHz)? As Sabertooth pointed out, even if you overclock the E6600 from 266MHz to 400MHz FSB, all you'd really need would be RAM capable of running at 400MHz...in other words, PC2-6400 (aka DDR2-800).

IMO, you'll be needlessly spending an extra $350+/- on RAM that won't perform any better than the "cheap stuff".

I also agree with him about liquid cooling. It's unnecessary & just another waste of money, as is running 2 video cards in SLi.

I don't know about you, but I can find better things to spend $500+ on.

Well I guess I didn’t word my question very will sorry about that.
I don’t have any of this hardware right now I have a 478 CPU with a 6800 Ultra
AGP lol and when I play a game I like to have it max out. But the poor 6800 ultra came not kipp up with the games out now so I am upgrading to a 8800 GTX and a Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i SLI Socket 775 1333MHz DDR2 - 1000 Motherboard sine they don’t Make AGP any more. and I was not sure what Ram to use I have Corsair right now and was going to get the Corsair XMS2-9136 2GB DDR2 Dominator Series Memory when I saw that the OCZ OCZ2FX11502GK 2GB Kit DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC Edition Dual Channel Memory had Xtreme Liquid Convention and that it was 8 MHz faster and that it could OC to 1280 and that dominator OC to 1200Mhz I wasn’t sure witch is a better. Below is what some one on newegg wrote about the Dominator I was looking at.
This is the fastest memory you can buy that is EPP certified. I wouldn't buy the OCZ, because OCZ doesn't have a relationship with NVIDIA like Corsair does. After reading that I wasn’t sure If I should buy the OCZ sine I have never had a OCZ RAM Card. But I like OCZ b/c it can be Liquid cooled and I have Liquid cooling and should help it overclock higher then the Dominator. And the CPU I will be using as a temporary CPU is a 3.4 GHZ EE 800 MHZ them later a Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad-Core Processor 2.66GHz, 1066FSB, LGA775, 8MB cache. The 3.4 CPU we bought about 2 Years ago I was a noob them and didn’t now anything about hardware and needless to say A 3.4EE LGA CPU will not work on a 478 M/B I found out the hard way so the poor thing has been setting under my Bed in till now. And I would have sent it back but My Dad bought it off E bay.

"It runs at 1142MHz with no stability issues."

If you can ever get to 571Mhz FSB on ur C2D, then its useful to get it. However, w/o good cooling, you will never able to push ur mobo all the way to 571Mhz...

If u want one of the best OCing potentials for quite a good price, get the Curcial Ballistix 2GB PC2-6400 RAM. I got mind off memory express for less than $450CAD. With the right amount of voltage and everything, i can really push these babies.

You're missing the point. You don't need $400-500 memory to overclock the Core2 Duo. Take your E6600 @ 3.78GHz for an example. You're apparently running the FSB at 420MHz (1680MHz quad-pumped). Just about any PC2-6400 should be capable of running at 420MHz.

How about this G.Skill RAM for about 1/2 the price & better timings:

I have the memory you are asking about and would not trade for the world. I had 2 gig os Patriot DDR2 800 and it would not run at spec. I just ordered the 9136 Domenators and am currently running them @ 4,4,4,12,13 with the processor running around 3.4 to 3.6 but I have one of the Conroe chips that hits a wall around 3.4 or so. I mostly was pissed at Patroit and did not want bad memory again so I went for what most people was ranting about the Dominator with the fan and have not looked back. This memory will also be great with the new 1333 chips when they come out.
