OK, I just recently got a computer and need some help to make my system run faster. I got an MSI K7N2G(IGP and MCP) nForce2 mobo with a Tbred XP 2200+ cpu, and 2 sticks of 256mb pc3200 geil RAM. Everything runs really smoothly, including my CPU, which is at 22º C , and my RAM is configured to run in dual channel configuration, but I am having some little annoying problems. First, every little while my speakers will become raspy(using Winamp), so I just pause the song and it goes away when restarted. Also, I wanted to be able to load up maps faster on Battlefield 1942 and UT2003. They both take a little while to load, and I know that they should go faster. I would be equally happy to either OC, or just use a software tweak to speed things up.
BTW, I have already done a couple things to try and speed it up, but haven't noticed much performance-wise. I put my processor on "high performance" setting in BIOS, and OC'd the multiplier to 7x(making it a 2400). I also changed the video settings to allocate 128MB for video, and the AGP aparture size anywhere from 128-512MB of RAM(although I never really noticed a difference in performance). I am basically looking to run programs, such as games, faster and smoother.

I think that my hdd is fine, its a Maxtor 40 gig ultra-ata 100 @ 7200 RPM. The OCing is what I am really thinking about. I know a lot about computers and stuff(I have taken A+, N+, Cisco, etc...), but havent really OC'd before. I think that I would benefit more from upping the FSB, because my CPU is rated at 133(266) mhz, but my RAM is at 400mhz. I just dont know exactly which OC goes with which. I thought that the vdd is supposed to be increased before the fsb can, or something like that, and the vcore accompanies the multiplier. I can only get the multiplier to 7x before it fails to post, so if anyone could tell me which would go together, and what the best route would eb, that would be great.
(BTW, temps are very good for OC'ing - CPU is at 20-27º C, and sys is at around 36º C, & vcore is at 1.6).
