I don't think there is even a point in overclocking a 450Mhz chip. I would suggest upgrading, especially that prices of good CPUs and motherboards are signifantely low now. I suggest newegg.com or tigerdirect.com

Maybe he can't afford new stuff. A PIII 450 being the slowest PIII I think he should be able to up it a bit. Try increasing the FSB and see how you go.

What mobo, do you have? If you have an intel board, I wish you luck, almost every cool function is locked out on their little flash bioses.

And don't we also oc just to see what we can get out of something like that (P3 450). I have my Athlon 1700+, it was fast enuf when I got it, but I wanted to see how fast I could get it,so I oced and now its @1.613. Also I have a 350 P2, I would love to oc that, but /me can't cause the intel mobo.

Chris, your in the same boat i was... i don't remember what board i had, at all... but i know that i looked at quite a few sites, u should be able to step up your FSB to 112 will set ur overall speed a rocking 54Mhz up... so you'll be running at 504 Mhz if you mobo supports the ability to jump it up to 133 that will help quite a bit, mine was real old...

btw cooling wise... P3's are not bad, i was running the original heat sink and fan and i took the heat sink off my proc and put it back on w/o new thermo compound and it ran fine... maybe a little hot, average temps were like 29-34 ish... just a bit above room temp that's all...
