Reply: (edit)havent heard much about those except for that you will probably want a via chipset, either the viakt266a or the new viakt333, i have heard of a lot of people having problems with the 333, but i have also heard of a lot of people having success with them, and brand i would go www.asus.com or www.soyo.com or msi (dont know the site)

Reply: (edit)Ask yourself what RAM to use 1st. Most people are happy to save some $$$$ and get SDRAM, some want all the jucicy and go for DDR333. Soltek is very good for OC. Abit is more expensive. MSI Ultra is good.

Reply: (edit)I used a Gigabyte ga-7vrx with a 1600+ and it ran very stable up to about 145 fsb. I reset to 133 and gave to my sister it has 512mb of ddr sdram. I have an 1800+ on an asus a7v333 that has been nothing but trouble wont load operating system file corruption you name it. Vender has offered to replace it and if it is bad to try an Abit since they cant seem to get another Gigabyte board like I wanted in the first place. All other parts are the same as gigabyte build only difference is prossesser

Reply: (edit)Don't bother k7ama's are s h i t e. I've had nothing but trouble & still haven't sorted it out. You would have to flash the bios anyway for an amd xp. Also can anyone explain why ECS say the chip set is a m1645 but ali don't even list it & say it should be a m1647. I'm glad thats off my chest bag of s h i t e!!!!
