HELP!!! CPU running at 100%

Hello,
HELP!!! My CPU is running at 100% and keeps getting hotter and hotter. I downloaded AVG, could this be the reason why??? Why is it running at 100%?????????? Please help!!! I just sit here and it runs at 100%, without even doing anything.

Hi,
When your pc is running Press "Ctrl,Alt and Delete" and go into windows task manager and click on your applications tab to see what is running.

This should tell you whats using your CPU..

open task manager and see whats prog or progs are making run at 100%.
you may want to post this up stairs at the xp forum.
btw, how the hell are you running xp with "96mb"

I know, I'm about to do an upgrade with my NEW laptop. But, I went to the running processes and there's a whole bunch of s--- running. 59 to be exact. Is that alot?

thats way to many.
I'm running .......24 at the moment, and I've thinned mine down, go hear.

and have a good read about xp services. the reg patch's are very usefull.
