"The first crop of Intel Core i7 processors released will be for the high-end desktop and are expected to ship later this year"

"Core 2 Duos, Core 2 Quads, Pentiums and Celerons are likely to be phased out over time (Intel will keep the Xeon brand, we were told), but they remain available for now"

I don't understand why they are calling it the I7, that's just more confusing numbering that the avg pc user won't understand. I mean I understand they can't call it a Core 3 because it's not based on the Core series, but damn call it something that makes it easier for people to understand. I mean at least back in the Pentuim days it was much easier to understand what processors series it is. At the very least they could have called it I4 or (I as in Intel, 4 as in cores)

WOO, My PC will once again will be obsolete! YAY!

At least this should bring down the cost of the quad cores, I'll grab one while they are cheap so I can ride this PC out as long as possible.
