I just posted about a new heatsink and got a lot of good responses. However, when i looked up the specs of some of these they had what looked like minimum Ghz requirements on some of the chips. The Zalman ANPS6000 was an example http://www.zalman.co.kr/english/product/cnps6000Cu.htm At the bottom of that article it says athlon thunderbird 1.4 Ghz+. My cpu is a T-Bird 1.2 Ghz. I take it this is a problem and i was hoping someone could clear that up or recommend something that would fit for that comp on a Asus A7A 266 motherboard.

The fastest tbird was only 1.4g. Looking at your mobo http://www.umd.es/prensa/imagenes/asus/a7a266.jpg I would guess that the zalman will clear those capacitors just above the socket, but have no experience to be sure.

i use an older volcano 5 for my amd 1gig and it works pretty well. You will probably need like a volcano 7 now as the 5's arent made anymore but they are amd certified and I have had no probs at all.

There is no such thing as minimum Ghz, as long as it can mount on that type of cpu, it can be used.
