Heat sink/fan

Ok, I had to replace the sink/fan on my system. My CPU is a P4 HT 3.2Ghz LGA (540). The fan and sink I bought is for a P4 LGA 775 /T Prescott (540). Its also smaller and not round like the original. But it lines up right. I just want some opinions on whether I bought the correct sink and fan. The specs match up but its the size I'm concerned about, and wether it will keep it cool enough.

Summary: Hey everyone, What difference does a "good" CPU heat sink and fan make over a generic one (i.e. how many degrees)? For example, a Volcano 7 vs. a CoolerMaster? I would appreciate any recommendations...
