When I shut down my computer, it hangs on "shutting down". I left it go overnight. It was still shutting down the next day. 8 hours, no shutdown. What do I do to fix it? Or what is required to fix it?

Press and hold the on/off button until it shuts down. If this reoccurs, look for a program/application that is not shutting down (open task manager and look what is active). If you have processes running that you do not need and they start automatically with windows, open msconfig, go to the start tab, and uncheck most processes that are not Microsoft or your Antivirus program. You can open them when you need them.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
