I have Resently Started to get into cooling my system more and more. I have tons of extra fan around. And many more that I can easy get for next to nothing. But Besides your stander 80MM PC fans has anyone got any other ideas to cool my system even more?

So far I have a Hard drive fan, 1 case fan.
Volcano 7+ for my CPU.

I am about to cut a few holes in the side of my case and mount another 2 80MM fans on the side. and if I can on on the top.

But I want it even cooler in there I tell ya!
Any Ideas besides a water cooling system.

I work at a Building Center and can get bathroom vent fans very very cheap.

Or is there another type of PC fan I am just missing.

Thanks

T-boy

You could run 4" dryer duct from the side wall hole to the cpu fan.

Your system is getting somewhat unbalanced in terms of airflow-to-heatsinks. Much of your airflow will be wasted if you do not have sinks to get the heat off the chips, just as a gallon of water with only a drop of soap doesn't get you very clean. The volc7 is decent but since you are wanting to be sort of extreme why not get an slk900 for the cpu. Not cheap though so maybe not.

You could put new/better sinks on the ram and northbridge and southbridge. Your mobo temp will go down a lot if you have an 80mm side fan or two aimed at nb/sb sinks. Older smaller heatsinks work well and sometimes hardware or electronic stores have generic sinks for $1 that will work for you.

Thats a great Idea. I do know of a place that has Older smaller heatsinks.

As for the 4in Dryer duct. I was thinking of that too. I am going to borrow a bathroom fan from work tomorow (The kind ya have in your washroom) and see if that does anything.
if so maybe I will mount it and have the pipe just go into my basement (already a hole in the corner of my room for wires and other stuff)

Its a little crazy , but I have no AC and I wanted my CPU under 50C when ideling

As I've said before, I'm not a big supporter of expensive HSFs...if your case isn't properly ventilated, it doesn't matter what HSF you have or how much you pay for it...you can't cool your CPU using warm air.

The concept is very simple but it seems that many people have a difficult time understanding it. The job of the heatsink is to "absorb" heat from the CPU & the fan dissipates that heat into the case. Then the exhaust fan expels the warm air from the case & the intake fan replaces it with cooler room air. There should be a "balance"...CFM-in should equal CFM-out, or close to it. You don't want 5 intake fans & only one exhaust fan, or vice versa...balance is the key.

Since warm air rises, you want your exhaust fans mounted near the top of the case, usually in the back. Intake fans should be mounted low in the case, usually in the front. By doing it this way, you achieve a nice diagonal cross flow across your board. If you cut a hole in the side panel & mount a fan (with duct) over your CPU/HSF, make sure to check which direction the fan on the HS is moving air & mount your ducted fan to move the air in the same direction.

Also take note of the amount 'ampage' those adventurous bathroom fans draw, or you could endup having to swap your atx psu for a 'genny'!

Bath exhaust fans mostly run on 110vac. You sell a lot of them because they don't last long. Just a universal motor with a big inefficient fan blade on it. Easier and cheaper to sit a $5.99 house fan to blow into the case. And when you're done you still have a house fan.
