Comment: Is there an easy way in XP to see how my recent tweaking with OC-ing in BIOS has effected CPU speed, FSB speed, voltage etc? Also I hope all my system specs show up in my sig for this but 'What do I need to do in Bios to OC" (I know guys, very open ended question here) I know how to access the advanced options in BIOS "Jumper free configuration" etc. So I am wondering about: CPU frequency PCI Express clock DDR voltage CPU multiplier CPU voltage any anything else that might be helpful. Reply: (edit)The new AMD CPUs have built-in thermal protection. It is virtually impossible to overheat one to death. That picture is of an old Athlon that had no thermal protection...it looks like it was run with no heatsink installed. Otherwise, I gave you several tips in your other thread. I don't know how high you wanna push your system, but there should be no reason to change any voltage settings unless you go to the extreme. CPU Freq = 250MHz CPU multi = 11x HT multi = 4x DRAM = DDR333 PCI-E clock = 100MHz PCI clock = 33MHz This will put the CPU at 2.75GHz, RAM at 208MHz, & HT speed at 1000MHz. I suggest you do some reading on overclocking & BIOS settings. There are a least a dozen settings that need to be adjusted. You have the Cadillac of tweakable BIOS on that board...learn what the settings are & what you can do with them. Otherwise, like you said, you "have a Ferrari but can't get it past 2'nd gear"

Reply: (edit)The "Peg" settings have to do with auto overclocking of the video card, kinda like AI NOS but without a decent explanation of what the settings do. It's best to disable them. And if you wanna overclock your video, use a program like Coolbits or ATiTool. This site explains BIOS settings in detail: http://www.rojakpot.com/freebog.aspx

Reply: (edit)Everything works exactly as you said it would. What's more, it did not raise my temp 1 degree, even at full load with prime95 running for two hours. Please recommend an EZ TO UNDERSTAND guide to over clocking from the net. I googled and there are hundreds of sights. I'm not sure which to pick.

A sample here would be really helpful. Can you break it down for me like above with the additional tweeks that may be necessary, so I can begin to make small adjustments on my own? I do not intend to go nuts, just small incremental tweaking and adjustments. Keep in mind the above tweeks caused 0 temp rise.
