Solved gmail contact manager takes 100% of CPU

July 7, 2011 at 12:00:23
Specs: Windows XP, 2 GB
Dell desktop Dimension 4600 with 2 G memory running Windows XP. When I try to edit my gmail contact list, CPU usage jumps to 100% and operation stalls, requiring reboot. Have noticed spikes in CPU usage loading some programs, but gmail is the big problem--and a relatively new one. Startup programs have been minimized and seem to be low in resource requirement.

I did do all the scans. It appears that the Google email contact updating is the mainn problem, so I will investigate how too rreinstall gmail without losing my contact database. Thanks for your help.--
