Hi
I was wondering if this mobo will give a good overclock.. couse i want to overclock a AXP 2500+ Mobile to 3200+..

Will the GIGABYTE GA-7N400 give a better, same or worse performance then the: Albatron KX18D?

Of all the nForce2 boards I see recommended in these forums, the Gigabyte is not one of them. Here are a few you may wanna consider instead...

Abit NF7-S2
Albatron KX18D Pro
Asus A7N8X-? (several variations)
Shuttle AN35N-Ultra

Add to that the DFI LANParty series, and the Soltek FRN2 series.

Ok.. then i think i'm going for the Asus A7N8X-E D.nForce2..
With a AXP 2500+ Mobile @3200+ and 1GB of PC3200..
Oh, just one more question, If i dont overclock the system.. Can this PSU handle it?

No good! 300 watts isn't enough these days & that unit has too little amperage on the +12v rail

Don't know why you want to replace your board just because you need to run your 2500+ @ a 3200+ clock. What makes you think whatever you couldn't do before, will be possible after overclocking.

You realise you will need to upgrade your PC2700 RAM too, but I can not tell you how to best spend your money.

Well Now, i just got an old AMD Athlon 1.4GHz @ 1.6 512MB PC2700..
MSI 6380LITE
So i want to upgrade it to:
AXP 2500+@3200+ 1GB PC3200
Asus A7N8X-E D.nForce2
Just to have a faster comp for my GeForce FX 5900XT, and have a better gaming rig
