hey everyone,
I have the following motherboard ECS K7SEM and it has a socket A and i want to put an Athlon 1.4Ghz in it but i need to know that this means, i understand that it has a clock speed of 133Mhz, but the processor i want says 266Mhz FGSB (133*2) can i use this in my board. i cant find the manual plz help me out here im really desperate!!!

Yes CPU OK, Athlon has a 133fsb but that is doubled on the clock cycling to 2*133=266

It can be confusing, but the "actual" FSB setting is 133MHz. This is "double pumped" so that the "effective" speed is 266MHz FSB. Basically, they're the same thing.

There are 2 versions of 1.4GHz Athlon (T-bird) - one is clocked at 14 x 100MHz (200FSB version) & the other is clocked at 10.5 x 133MHz (266FSB version).

Hopefully you have PC133 RAM so that both the CPU & RAM can run at the same bus speed (133MHz).
