I am able to raise my fsb to 142 with pc 2100 memory, would pc2700 allow me to raise the fsb higher? My bios wont let me change multiplers or fsb so i use a software program cpucool for a increase from 1995 to 2135 with a xp2400 processor. thanks for any help.

Going from 133 to 142 isn't that huge of a jump for your RAM...it could be your problem, but it could also be the CPU that's holding you back. Can you raise the CPU voltage in the BIOS? What motherboard do you have?

Any of the MSI boards are good for O/C'ing. There are Asus and Abit too, but I've never used those so I don't know how good they are. I've got a K7N2 Delta-ILSR and it goes from 66 to 233 (133 to 466) FSB, and can set voltage by BIOS and memory timings also. Also can change the clock/voltage on the AGP. Currently in mine is Athlon XP 2700+ and a gig of dual channel PC3200 (DDR400).

You didn't say what model your board is...sometimes there's a setting in the BIOs that has to be changed to "reveal" the other settings. Usually something like changing from "Auto" to "User Defined"

if you get a different Mobo, might as well get some faster memory, like pc3200 that will give you some room to work with
