Maybe your getting in a little above your head, if your knowledge stops at the overall speed/name of the CPU, then your not going to understand very much I say. Perhaps a little research on the topic may help, I'd post some links but I'm at work and I can't remember them off the top of my head. Google is your best friend here, or you could try:

No, not all p4's have fsb of 800mhz.
p4 a - 400mhz
p4 b - 533mhz
p4 c - 800mhz
There is also the new prescotts and EE..
EE - 800mhz, L2/512K; L3/ 2MB
Prescott - 800mhz, L1/12K+16K; L2/1MB

You're correct...there's only about 7 or 8 P4's I'm aware of and P5, itanium and xeon don't count.

Just trying to make a point. I understood where Adam and johnoh were coming from.

"What is the engine and transmission in my chevy?" is pretty much the same question.

Do you explain what an engine is or do you tell him that it could be any one of 166 different engines?
