Hey Guys, Im having a problem with my Fans I think. it just recently started to run at max rpms for no apparent reason. I dont know why my CPU would be running high temps cuz I dont play any hardcore games...alls I do is use photoshop and use the net mostly.

it used to be fine never blow at full rpm but i dunno whats up, i can have windows media player up and a webpage...and the fans will kick in full swing. dosent make sense. I watch my RAM and it usually stays below 250mb when PS and a webpage is up and thats usually when it occasionally kicks in. like I said it never did that say a month ago. I just recently restored to factory to clear any crap out and it still doing it. Frustrating I must say.

I dont see a difference in the performance of my comp when the fans kick in but loud haha. its only a 2 year old computer and it has never had a problem ever, its actually a really good running comp.

here are my lamo system specs you need to know i hope:

Make: Emach 2 years old & Stock(laugh now)
Model:T2984
OS:Win XP Home
CPU:Intel Celeron D 340
RAM:512
HD:80GB

Has 3 cooling fans and a but the one that is giving me trouble is the one over the processor. Ive unplugged it to clean it before but i plugged it in the right spot after

It is a completely stock comp nothing new everything at factory spec

I dont know how to read my Temps or I would give you that info, sorry

Thanks for your help and any would be appreciated.

Well since ure CPU is a celeron D, im not suprised at all... Most of intel's old CPUs after the P3 run really hot. My friend is using a Pentium D than is usually 80*C+ while not doing much.

Sounds like you may have some dust built up over the years. I suggest that you clean your whole pc out from the fan to the motherboard. Go out and buy yourself compressed can of air and start blowing all that dust that has been collected inside your pc. That would help. You should clean out the inside of your pc once every 6 months to a year depending upon where you live.

See thats the thing, I went and did exactly what you suggested bout a week ago because I thought it was clogged and junk but it continued to do what it is doing now.

I even moved my comp away from any near heat vents in the house..haha

Ok so I find out that there is a Thermal bond between the Heat sink and CPU...that I clearly wiped off when I cleaned the CPU cooling stuff...Could this be the culprit, and if so, should I not run heavy apps till I get grease on it?
