Hi all, I've got 4 80 mm case fans and an enermax 3171L-B3A. I have space for 2 fans in the back, 1 in the front, 1 on the side, and 1 on the top of the case. I currently have 1 exhaust on the back and 1 on the top. The intake fans are on the side and in the front. What is the best configuration, as far as where to place intake fans and exhaust fans, to ensure I get the max air flow and lowest temps? I have the most powerful 80mm fan as an intake on the side. Which position should I put the most powerful fan? Thanks

the max powerful IMO should either be the intake or the one on top, since heat rises, but abundant supply of fresh air is also helpful. I have the same fan setup, 2 intake, 2 exhaust, one intake on side, one exhaust on top, keeps the case at ambient temp

I wrote this in response to your "high boot temp" post...

"As for your fan arrangement, they should be in balance...CFMs in should equal CFMs out...or as close as possible. Warm air rises, so exhaust fans should be placed as high in the case as possible, intake fans should be placed down low."
